Elaine Thompson DeGiusti specializes in complex business and commercial litigation in both federal and state courts, and practices primarily in the areas of business and commercial law, receivership law and insurance law. Elaine’s work includes a variety of cases involving breach of contract, negligence, breaches of fiduciary duty and other business torts. Her receivership experience includes advising receivers regarding best practices for the failed institution, as well as prosecuting and defending claims on the receivers’ behalf. Prior to joining Leonard Long & Cassil, PLLC, Elaine practiced with the Oklahoma City firm of Andrews, Davis, Legg, Bixler, Milsten & Price, and then joined Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. as its Assistant General Counsel. Elaine has been actively involved in Oklahoma City civic and community activities. Among other volunteer activities, she has served as President of the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Oklahoma City, and is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Oklahoma City Alumni Association and currently serves as a member of its House Corporation. She previously served on the Board of Visitors of the Classics and Letters Department at the University of Oklahoma and is a past officer and member of the Board of Trustees for the Oklahoma City Ballet. Elaine is admitted to practice before the Oklahoma Supreme Court and all Oklahoma state courts, the Western District of Oklahoma, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
